Adult Swim: Robot chicken miniseries

In coordination with COMICON in San Diego, the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim created an integrated campaign for KFC to reach out to their key 18-24 demographic.

This campaign tied KFC into multiple Adult Swim initiatives including;

  • The Adult Swim original mini-series “Robot Chicken - The Colonel’s Chronicles”.  

  • On site experiential touch points, Wi-Fi hotspots, built to look like life size models of the Colonel in various costumes.

  • An online promotional site where fans could find out about the COMICON activities and participate in an online Character Creator Contest with the winners getting flown to the NYC COMICON would have their character included on a Robot Chicken episode.

At FortyFour, I worked with the Comedy Central promotions team to create an engaging web experience that served to promote the COMICON activities while being the online destination for the Colonel’s Chronicles miniseries and the Robot Chicken Character Creator Contest.   With over 2500 characters created on mobile alone, the promotion was a great success and helped KFC reinforce their brand as an irreverent, unique voice appealing to millennials.
