Southern Kitchen

There is something about the south.  The new south has exploded on the cultural front and Cox media wanted to create a place to spotlight the people, places, and things driving this movement. That place was to be thesouthernkitchen.com.     Celebrating inclusivity, authenticity, and the joy of hospitality, The Southern Kitchen had a voice but needed a visual identity and platform for contributors and audiences to connect.  The Cox media group looked to fortyfour to help create this.

The design team I lead had two distinct challenges. The first was to create a visual identity that resonated and embodied the southern kitchen identity.  The second challenge was to create a responsive, flexible online template that could serve up articles, video content and products for sale.

Both were accomplished under a tight deadline allowing the southern kitchen to be up and running within two months from inception.
